Music lesson are available at a rate of $45.00 per ½ hour and $80.00 per hour. Students will receive 10% off all accessories and 20% if more than one family member is signed up. Please call the instructor to set up a day and time.

JAIRO CHAVEZ: (V)(P)(G)(W) (571)-212-9071 (FRIDAY) Jairo graduated from NOVA with an Associate in both Science and Applied Arts in Music. He currently plays with Mt. Vernon Community and Swing Band, City of Fairfax Band and the NOVA Saxophone Quartet. Jairo teaches beginning violin, piano, guitar, trumpet, clarinet and saxophone.

JOHN-MARC DINER (B)(P) (703)-635-8485 (SUNDAY) John is a Senior at George Mason University majoring in Jazz Studies. He graduated from NOVA with an Associates in Music. He has performed for several private events at GMU. John Teaches Electric Bass, Upright Bass and Beginning Piano.

CAITLIN FLEISIG-WANG (P) (703)-298-9737 ( SUNDAY, MONDAY, THURSDAY) Caitlin has a BA degree with a minor in Music from Elon University. Caitlin studied the piano for 18 years, four of which were at the University level. She taught piano lessons for children aged 6-11 in the Piano Pedagogy Program at Elon, where her students consistently received top Superior ratings during the annual National Federation of Music Clubs Piano Festival. She also teaches beginning guitar. We would like to welcome Caitlin (a former student of Alexandria Music) to our staff.

VERONICA GORODETSKAIA (P)(V) (703)-888-3636 Veronica has a BA degree with a major in piano, music theory and education and the History of Music. She studied under the supervision of Professor Kuzma at UC Berkeley and received her Master’s in Music from San Jose University. Veronica is the choir director for the St. Nicholas Cathedral in DC where she is conducting the SATB choir of 74 members. Veronica teaches piano, voice and beginning/intermediate guitar.

JOI HARPER (P)(V) (757)-761-6086 (FRIDAY AND SATURDAY) Joi Harper is a senior at George Mason University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition and a minor in Music Technology. As a composer, her choral works have been performed both nationally and internationally. She studied vocal pedagogy and classical voice with Debby Wenner and jazz voice with Dr. Darden Purcell, and has played piano for several years. She works with students of all ages, specializing in beginner and intermediate piano lessons, as well as several different genres of voice lessons. Joi works hard to instill a strong foundation in music theory and sight reading across all her students, so that they can be successful after completing study with her.

XHENI SHEPHERD : (VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO and PIANO) CALL STORE (MON. AND WED.) Xheni graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Albania and graduated from the College of Conservatory Music in Cincinatti. Xheni has performed with national orchestra and chamber ensembles throughout the U.S., Albania, Greece and Italy. She teaches traditional and Suzuki methods.

HARVEY JACOBSON(P) (571)-317-4200 (THURSDAY) Mr. Jacobson received a Masters of Music from the University of North Carolina, a Bachelor of Music from VCU and a Bachelor of Arts (Music Education) from Boston University. Harvey has Certification as a Music Therapist from the University of Kansas and Certification in Community College Education from George Mason. Harvey received the” Certificate of Individual Merit” from the National Federation of Music Clubs for the performances in concert of American Composers and he is listed in the 1976 edition of “Who’s Who in Music.” Mr. Jacobsen has been teaching piano since 1972.

LAURA KOSS (P)(V) (703)-674-6240 (TUESDAY) Laura received a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree, Music Education concentration from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Kenyon College where she graduated Magna cum Laude. Laura teaches Voice and Drama in Alexandria City Public Schools presently. Laura has taught Music, Voice and French Horn throughout New Jersey and Virginia since 2002.

TONI ANNE MCGUIRE: (V)(P)(G) 571-403-4259 (SATURDAY) Toni received an Associates of Fine Arts from NOVA. She taught piano and guitar in China, VCU and currently teaches at Arlington Community Learning. Toni teaches piano, voice, guitar, flute, clarinet and violin. She has been teaching for over 20 years. 

SEAN SLATTERY (P) (G) (703)-780-5933 (TUES.,WED.,FRI.) Sean has a Bachelor Degree from George Mason and an Associate of Applied Arts in Music from NOVA. He is currently employed as a Special Education and Music Department Assistant for Fairfax County Public Schools. Sean teaches guitar and beginning piano.

LARISA TABER (P) (202)-360-6962 (MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY) Larisa graduated with honors from the Musical School of Krasnodar. She received a Bachelor Degree in Music at the High Musical College of Krasnodar and completed her Master Degree in Music at the Rostov State Conservatory. She went on to teach at the Rostov Pedegogical College, the Rostov School of Music and the Rostov State Conservatory in Russia. Larisa teaches all levels of piano.

CHRISTINE HILBERT (P) (210)-643-7063 (SUNDAY) Chrissy graduated from VCU with a Bachelor of Music: Piano Performance. She received 3 scholarships, 2 from VCU and 1 from the Richmond Music Teachers Association. Chrissy was President of the VCU Music Teachers National Association Chapter for 2 years and taught a Masterclass during the Piano Pedagogy Forum. She has been teaching since 2010.
